Daily Expedition.
Marrakech – Toubkal Refuge (3205m)
Departure in the morning at 8am from Marrakech in tourist transport or taxi to the Western High Atlas where the Toubkal massif is located (1h30 drive). We will cross Asni, a small provincial center of the isolated Berber villages of the Toubkal region. We will arrive in Imlil (1800m) where we will be met by our mule driver to start our trek. After a two and a half hour walk, we will arrive at the marabout of sidi chamharourch. This is the ideal place to have lunch while enjoying the scenery. We will continue to climb to the Toubkal refuge (2h30). We will have dinner and spend the night at the refuge. (On request, it will also be possible to spend the night under the stars by setting up a bivouac under tents). *(Day: 1h 30 of tourist transport and 5h00 of walking, high level).
Toubkal Refuge (3205m) – Toubkal (4168m) – Marrakech
We will start the hike at dawn (departure around 5am). We recommend to be technically well equipped for the ascent, as it can be cold at the top (even in summer against all odds!). We advise you to bring gloves, a hat, a warm coat and walking sticks that can be very useful during the descent. The ascent takes 3h30, as soon as we reach the summit, we will be “on the roof of North Africa” and will be able to contemplate distant plains and enjoy a breathtaking view of the summits of the neighboring massifs which also exceed an altitude of 4000m. The descent takes 2 hours. We will have lunch at the refuge. Then, we will continue our descent for 3.5 hours to reach Imlil and take the road back to Marrakech (1h30). *(Day: 1h30 of tourist transport and 8h of walking, high level).

Cultural Etiquette
Morocco is welcoming but conservative. Dress modestly (shoulders/knees covered) when visiting villages or rural areas to show respect.
Best Time to Go
Spring (Mar-May) and Autumn (Sep-Nov) offer the best weather. Summers can be hot in the south, while winters see snow in the Atlas.
Currency & Tips
Cash is king in remote areas. Carry Moroccan Dirhams (MAD). Tipping (5-10%) is customary and appreciated for good service.
